I’ve played golf in Scotland. Walking past a particularly nasty looking pot bunker, I thought I would try to get the local Scot I was playing with going. I ranted, “Did it ever occur to you that this (pot bunker) is NOT the trait of a civilized people!? What kind of mind could CONCEIVE of this!? Where did you LEARN this!? The VIKINGS didn’t teach you to do this!” The Scottish fellow just smiled and said, “Yes. Diabolical, aren’t they?”
